They say that time flies when you're having fun, and that just about sums up the summer. It's been over six months since I posted about being accepted to BYU. It made me smile to read that and remember the day! Speaking of BYU, I'M HERE!! I'm a real live college student. Crazy! But that's for later. [: Just to catch up on what's happened since then, in the past six months I've had some pretty fantastic adventures:
Don't hit elk on a 50mph highway at night. It's not good for your car. Or the elk.
I turned a bunch of my favorite T shirts, clothes, and fabrics from my days as a youngin' into a quilt for my senior project. I couldn't have done it without Sister Batschi, Sister Sharp, or my mom! It was so much fun and it turned out beautifully, if I do say so myself.
Some friends and I took a road trip down to Provo. Dani and I stayed at her sister's house and spent a whole week just being the crazy best friends that we are. And we got to hang out with Kirsten! [:
Senior prom was amazing. End of story.
We took a family ski trip up to Whistler and stopped by to tour the brand new Vancouver, BC temple. To say that it was awesome would be the understatement of the century! It was AMAZING. Whistler was a bit of a letdown after that. [: Just kidding.
Memorial Day weekend was spent up on the boat. We saw whales!!
Goodbye high school. This day was a total blur!
And Green River! Just gimme that AA degree with Honors and I'll be on my way, thank you very much. [:
We took an epic roadtrip to the California Redwoods, San Fransisco, Yosemite, and the Sequoias! I love national parks! And my family!
I climbed 14,410 feet to stand on the top of Mount Rainier with my brother, mom, and dad. The hardest thing I've ever done. But was it worth it? Without a doubt!! If you ever want to learn new things about yourself, go climb a mountain. Honest [:
We spent a week in Sunriver, Oregon for our family reunion. So many memories are made down there! Family is the greatest thing on the planet.
A few days before I left for Provo, Dani and I went on a trail ride to rival all trail rides! We raced about ten times and splashed around in the river, where Dakota dumped me. All in all it was a fantastic day. [:
My last few days at home were spent with my family and my friends. As a family we slept out under the stars, had campfires in the backyard, and went to the Point Defiance Zoo! I got to spend some time with my two favorite guys as well. Matt and I got our favorite thing for lunch, teriyaki, and went down to the river to hang out and goof around. That kid is basically my big brother.
David and I went to OUR restaurant, Dairy Queen, and got blizzards. I've lost track of how many times we've done this. It's our thing [: This boy's friendship means SO much to me and I miss him a lot!
We also celebrated my birthday early since the real day will come around while I'm down at school. My younger sisters gave me all sorts of handmade trinkets and artwork, which I now display proudly in my dorm room. [: I was given books, clothes, jewelry, a new phone - basically I was spoiled rotten! But the real surprise came when I got to the last present, a big heavy box. I already knew what it was - Dad had told me earlier that he was going to get the family laptop wiped clean and give it to me before I left so that I could have a computer for school. I was quite the excited girl. I unwrapped it and of course there was the HP box, which I opened up and... the thing in there was far from a used HP laptop! It was a brand-spanking-new MacBook Pro and it was SO GORGEOUS. I was totally in shock. I have the best family ever. It was a very good birthday indeed. [:
{Dad captured the moment! Haha.}
