Flying into SeaTac with the most beautiful view of my mountain. [:
Andrew is one of Ryan's closest friends from way back to freshman year at BYU. They ended up both being called to Mexico on their missions, and were roommates ever since they got back. Andrew and his girlfriend/fiance/now WIFE, KayCee, have made a few appearances on my blog throughout their relationship, as they're obviously one of our favorite couples to hang out with, and we were thrilled this June to attend their sealing in the Portland temple. Just look at these babes.
And just look at this TEMPLE.
And also this cute groomsman I snagged. [:
It was a blast to have a mini 168th-ward-reunion for this! We have the greatest friends. So fun swapping memories and laughs throughout the wedding pictures, brunch, and reception. Yee! I love weddings!
One of our favorite memories of the evening - We were all pretty stoked to decorate the getaway car due to... well, ANDREW'S knack for getting away with decorating the car of every married couple in the ward in the most hilarious yet dirty way (including ours on our wedding day). However, major bummer, we were told by Andrew's family that KayCee's family would be taking care of the car and that we weren't allowed to touch it. The end of the reception came and the couple was getting ready to leave, and KayCee's sisters ran up to us and asked why the bridal party hadn't decorated the car. we all stood there and stared at each other with open mouths. WE HAD BEEN TRICKED. So we grabbed everything we could find - tablecloths, chocolate sauce, glitter, condoms, and streamers and just did whatever we could in the few minutes we had.
In short, a total waste of a night of revenge we had all looked forward to, but oh well. [: It was a wonderful wedding day for the Potts!
We spent of the rest of the weekend with my family, which was perfect. It'd been a long six months since I'd hugged my beautiful sisters!
Obviously, the Krops getting together meant hiking, like usual.
We hiked up to Lake Lillian and Rampart Ridge and, though it was a little buggy, it was mm good for this Washington girl's soul.
Fun to think that the last time I was here was almost two years ago - the weekend before our wedding! My last backpacking trip as a single woman. It was great to bring Ryan here now. [:
The wildflowers were breathtaking. Ah I love these mountains. I can just smell the sun on the evergreens and the heather!
The perfect stopping point for lunch. We sat here and snacked and laughed and relaxed in the sunshine. And smacked at mosquitos every now and then.
And of course a Sounders game with my family's season tickets. We ate hot dogs and watched an awesome victory over FC Dallas. Good times. [:
I love weddings, my Evergreen State, and my wonderful family!
