Capitol Reef National Park

For Independence Day weekend, we took a trip to Capitol Reef National Park with some friends. It was a blast. The campground was busy, but most people were lazy I'm-only-doing-things-where-I-can-stay-in-my-car people, so the trails were relatively empty, even on a long weekend! We loved that. It was hot, but we had some awesome summer rain, great food, great company, and great scenery. Note for memory's sake: this is the trip when Andrew forgot the stove and our sleeping pads. Haha! We made it work. Not ideal, though. [:
Breakfast of champions.
We did several hikes: Capitol Gorge, Grand Wash, Cohab Canyon, Hickman Bridge, Cassidy Arch and a few more I can't remember... All were beautiful and unique!
Cards Against Humanity. The most hilarious game I have EVER played. Guaranteed cry-laughter every time. Though you need to throw out the overly dirty cards, because there definitely are some.
Andrew was excited about the "water pockets," which he assumed were swimming holes, but I soon realized that he was getting that from the Water Pocket Fold, a geologic formation that makes up the majority of the park. [: But we hiked to some tanks to make him feel like there were still "water pockets" in the park. Haha! Though we wouldn't have swam in those scummy things for a hundred bucks, we had so much fun with these guys.
Love hiking with this man.
That's another park checked off for Ryan and I. Thank you Utah for being amazing!
